Resignation of CDA chairman demanded
The activists of Jatiya Sramik League laid siege to the Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) building for one hour demanding resignation of its chairman.
Chittagong city Sramik League President Bakhtiar Uddin Khan led the siege programme from 12.00 noon to 1.00pm. CDA Sramik League General Secretary Abdul Wahab and Chittagong Port Employees Council Secretary Wahidullha Sarkar were present at the programme.
Bakhtiar in his speech at the programme said they demand resignation of CDA chairman as he is transferring Sramik League activists without following any rules and regulation.
CDA Chairman Abdus Salam was not at his office during the siege programme.
CDA officials said the chairman is visiting different projects in different areas in the port city.
Salam said some outsiders staged a demonstration demanding his resignation in front of the CDA building out of jealously as he has broken all the previous records of development.
