Retired police held on charge of cheating
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a retired police constable from the city's Banashree area on charge of taking money from several job seekers in the name of providing jobs at Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Army on Tuesday.
Police seized several fake appointment letters of BGB and army, fake seals, answer sheets, application and medical forms of army recruitment from the possession of detained Tariqul Islam, 45, son of late Mokam Mollah, of South Banashree of Khilgaon Police Station.
DB Senior Assistant Commissioner Abdul Ahad said they arrested Tariq following a case filed by one of the cheated job seekers, Shamim Ahmed, with Khilgaon Police Station on Tuesday.
