90 IAB men get bail
Two seperate division benches of High Court (HC) yesterday granted a one-month anticipatory bail to 90 activists of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB), accused in eight seperate criminal cases.
Some local individuals of Sonargaon, Siddhirganj and Fatullah of Narayanganj filed the cases with the respective police stations of the areas on July 12 and 20. The charges were for vandalising vehicles and blocking roads during a countrywide hartal enforced by IAB on July 10.
The accused including Atiqur Rahman, ameer of its Narayanganj unit, appeared before the HC benches for bail, Barrister Fakhrul Islam, one of their lawyers, told The Daily Star.
