Pre-feasibility study report on Aug 18

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib International Airport Construction Cell will submit its pre-feasibility study report on selection of sites to the civil aviation ministry next week. “The cell will submit its pre-feasibility report to me on August 18,” Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader told BSS here yesterday. “It has primarily selected four new sites in Madaripur, Gopalganj, Faridpur and Munshiganj districts for the new airport and now doing feasibility study to prioritise the sites,” Quader said. After getting the pre-feasibility study report, the civil aviation ministry will submit it to the prime minister for selecting the new location, the minister said. The ministry will appoint a consultant firm to conduct the main feasibility study after getting approval from the premier, he said. The four new sites under consideration are Bhanga of Faridpur, Baghiar Beel of Madaripur-Gopalganj, char (shoal) area at Shibchar upazila under Madaripur and Sirajdikhan of Munshiganj districts.
