Draft of Nutrition Research, Training Instt Act approved
The cabinet yesterday approved in principle the draft of “Bangladesh Applied Nutrition Research and Training Institute Act 2011” in a bid to strengthen the research work to ensure nutrition for all in the country.
The approval came at the regular cabinet meeting at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair where she conveyed advance Eid greetings to the countrymen and her cabinet colleagues, who also responded with Eid greetings.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, prime minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad said the cabinet approved the draft act for proper management of the institute founded by National Prof Dr Mohammad Ibrahim at Demra in 1968.
As per the proposed act, a board headed by Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury will be formed with necessary funds to carry out research and training, Azad added.
