Govt plots to ruin BNP
Says Fakhrul
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam alleged yesterday that the government is conspiring to destroy BNP with the aim to stay in power forever, but people will resist it by forging a tougher anti-government movement.
“Awami League government wants to destroy BNP as it was born following the failure of Awami League. But no conspiracy will be successful as people are with BNP,” he said, addressing a discussion in Engineers Institution Auditorium on the occasion of BNP's 33rd founding anniversary.
Alamgir said Ziaur Rahman founded BNP to save the country as the AL government destroyed the spirit of the liberation war by establishing one party rule in 1975.
