Welcoming Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his upcoming visit to Dhaka, the main opposition BNP said there is a chance to resolve the long-standing disputes between the two neighbouring countries. “We have longstanding crises like dispute in borders, demarcation of maritime boundary and water sharing with India and there is a chance to resolve them,” said Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, BNP standing committee member. He said this after placing wreath at the grave of BNP's founder Ziaur Rahman, marking the 33rd founding anniversary of the party, at city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Thursday. He, however, expressed doubts over whether the present government would be able to utilise the opportunity as the present government, from what he observed, exercises a “bowing down” foreign policy. Manmohan is expected to arrive on September 6.
