Old woman dies in city road crash

An old woman was crushed under the wheels of a speedy jeep in city's Khilgaon area yesterday. The victim was identified as Kohinur Begum, 55, resident of a tin-shed colony in Khilgaon Railgate area. Police said a speedy jeep hit Kohinur while she was crossing the road under Khilgaon flyover, leaving her injured about 1:15pm. The jeep driver himself rushed her to a nearby clinic in a critical condition. Later, she was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctor declared her dead. Police arrested jeep driver Suruj Mia and seized his jeep.
