No transit without Teesta treaty: Matia

Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury yesterday said there would be no transit deal with India without Teesta water sharing treaty. Matia said this at a relief distribution programme among the flood victims from Nalitabari and Nokla upazilas at Nalitabari upazila parishad hall room. Referring to criticism that Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit was a failure, she said: “I' don't say we've got all that we had wanted. But whatever we've got is not insignificant.” She said, “We've got many things with the agreements with India, including quota-free access of 46 Bangladeshi products to Indian market and Tin Bigha corridor.” Deputy Commissioner Md Nasiruzzaman, acting police super Anisur Rahman were present on the occasion.
