Int'l support to ensure quality edn sought
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday sought international support to ensure quality of education in the country.
“To check school dropout and ensure quality of education at all levels are the main challenges for many countries. Financial and technical support from the Unesco and experience sharing are needed to face these challenges”, he said.
Nahid was addressing an Education Ministerial meeting of E-9 countries at Manek Sha Centre in New Delhi, said a PID handout.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already brought a significant change in the country's education sector.
“We've formulated the National Education Policy 2010 taking opinions from different levels. We're implementing it gradually,” he said.
Nahid urged the E-9 countries to work unitedly for checking school dropout and ensuring quality of education in these countries.
He is leading a three-member delegation at the international conference tilted 'Women's Literacy for Inclusive and Sustainable Development' in New Delhi.
