'Reduce price of RU application forms'
Around 200 students of Rajshahi University (RU) under the banner of Chattra Union staged demonstrations on the campus yesterday protesting price hike of first year application forms of 2011-12 academic sessions.
Speaking at a protest rally at Tukitaki Chattar, the students said the price, almost doubled, would be a burden for poor students and called upon the university authorities to decrease the price before September 15, last day to obtain forms.
Chhatra Union leaders threatened to launch tougher programmes including formation of human chains, class boycott and general strike if their demand is not met.
