Two factories, one shop fined in city
A mobile court fined two factories and one grocery shop Tk 1.10 lakh in the city yesterday.
The court fined the factories and the shop for producing and storing duplicate products and running factories without licence of certification mark of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI).
The court fined the Century Cables Company Tk 50, 000 for producing duplicate cables using BRB and Para Sign logo, Mim Fresh Drinking Water Tk 50,000 for illegally producing water, and New Sadia Store Tk 10,000 for storing product without BSTI required information, says a press release of the BSTI.
A combined team of Dhaka district administration, BSTI, Rab and Dhaka Metropolitan Police led by Executive Magistrate Mohammad Selim Hossain conducted the drive at the city's Khilgaon and Nawabpur.
