BCL factions clash in Ctg: 4 injured

Two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) unit of Omar Gani MES College in the port city yesterday locked in a clash injuring four activists. Of the injured, Shah Imtiaz and Yusuf Khan, both students of the college, were given treatment in a private hospital while Saimon and Ashraf were given treatment in Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said college sources. Campus sources said, around 11:30am, BCL factions loyal to Mashiur Rahman Didar and Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar clashed for establishing supremacy on the campus. Both they groups used machetes, rods and sticks during the clash, sources added. Wasim Uddin, vice-president of the college student union, said some non-students from outside tried to interfere in the clash but they were chased away by the students. Khulshi police said no case was filed in this regard.
