Man drowns while fleeing from BSF

A Bangladeshi man drowned as he dived into the Nagor River on Beurjhari border under Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon to evade capture by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at noon on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Anwarul Haque, 26, son of Abu Taher of Thoprabari village in the upazila. Anwarul's family said BSF men gave chase near Beurjhari border near pillar number 380 while he was returning after a visit to his in-laws at Chunihari village in Gowalpukur Thana in Poshchim Dinajpur in India. Fishermen found his floating body around 3:00pm and informed Beurjhari Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) outpost, who recovered and handed it over to Baliadangi police. His body was handed over to the family in the evening.
