Tagore song evening today

A raga-based Tagore song evening will be held in the auditorium of Alliance Française de Chittagong in the port city today. As a part of one-year celebration of Nobel Laureate Poet Rabindranath Tagore's 150th birth anniversary, Alliance Française de Chittagong and Sangeet Parishad, an organisation working on music in the port city, are jointly organising the event at 7:00pm. The programme will feature recital of Tagore's favourite ragas by Ustad Swarnamoy Chakraborty and rendering of Tagore's raga-based songs by Shreyashi Roy and Monisha Roy. Alliance Française de Chittagong Director Samuel Berthet will inaugurate the programme as the chief guest and Indian Assistant High Commissioner Shomnath Ghose will present as the special guest at the programme.
