Tanore UZ vice-chairman held

Police arrested vice-chairman of Tanore upazila from his house at Sreeghonta village in Tanore upazila on Friday for not submitting his electoral expenditure. The arrestee is Abdur Rahim, also an upazila Jamaat leader. He was sent to jail, police said. Police said the district's returning officer of the 2009 upazila parishad elections filed a case against 61 people who failed to file details of their electoral expenses as per rules. Most of the accused are on bail but Rahim did not seek bail in the case, police added.
