One killed in road accident
A man was killed and nine examinees of primary terminal examinations were injured in two separate road accidents in Magura and Naogaon early Saturday and yesterday.
Our Magura correspondent reports: A speeding bus knocked down Anisur Rahman alias Anju, of Islampurpara in the town, on Magura-Faridpur Highway in Belnagar area under sadar upazila, killing him on the spot on Saturday night, said police quoting witnesses.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent adds: Nine girl examinees of primary terminal examinations were injured as a Bhutbhuti carrying them fell into a roadside ditch at Tenarpir in Niamotpur upazila in Naogaon yesterday morning.
The injured are Khatiza Khatun, Fahima Akhtar Fency, Mousumi Akhtar, Fatema Khatun, Rawshan Ara, Babita Khatun, Maksuda Khatun, Mst Mousumi and Amina Khatun.
They were going to sit for the terminal exams.
Of the injured, Fahima was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition and the rest eight to Niamotpur Upazila Health Complex.
