Polytech student kills himself
A student of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute committed suicide in the port city early yesterday as a reaction to his father's derogatory comment.
The deceased is Ismail Hossain Sarkar Sohag, 19, son of Monir Hossain Sarkar of Jalalabad Housing Society in Khulshi area.
Khulsi Police said Ismail's father called him bustard as Ismail supported his aunt instead of his father in a family arbitration held on Saturday morning.
After the incident, Ismail went out of the residence and did not return home. Later, locals recovered his hanging body from a tree at nearby Foy's Lake hill around 11:00am yesterday.
