Industries Minister Dilip Barua yesterday urged the country's young generation to put in their best efforts to help carry out national-building activities in line with the spirit of the Liberation War. He described the young generation as future of the nation and asked them to take a vow to work for establishing 'Sonar Bangla' as envisioned by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The industries minister was speaking at a discussion on 'Forty Years of Independence: Achievements and Expectations of Industry Sector' here. The Ministry of Industries organised the discussion at the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) auditorium. Industries Secretary KH Masud Siddique chaired the function while Prof Mostafa Nurul Islam spoke as the main speaker. Barua said the anti-liberation forces had made an attempt to foil the achievements of the liberation war by assassinating Bangabandhu in 1975 and their conspiracies are still on to hinder the country's development process. “We should hate the anti-liberation forces to show respect to the tens of thousands of martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the independence,” he said.
