3-day civil engineering congress begins today

A three-day first civil engineering congress and the 4th annual paper meet begins here today with a focus on expediting engineering innovations. Civil Engineering Division (CED) of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) is organising the congress at the IEB seminar hall in the city. The theme of the congress is "Innovation Fosters Prosperity". The organisers said this at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) yesterday. CED Secretary Eng Kazi Khairul Bashar read out a paper highlighting key features of the congress. IEB former president and eminent earthquake expert Prof Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Buet Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof M Habibur Rahman and CED Chairman Eng Abdul Azim Zoarder also spoke.
