Regional network urged

Speakers at a meeting called for acceleration of movement at community, state and international levels to combat the adverse climate change effects . The meeting, "Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Adaptation" was organised by Concern Universal-Bangladesh and 67 NGOs at Setara Convention Hall in the city's Mirpur on Tuesday. Privatisation Commission Chairman Dr Mirza Abdul Jalil, DU Prof Dr M Shahidul Islam, Convener of State IAG of Paschimbanga Father Reggie Fernandes, JCYCN President in Nepal Tilottam Paudel, journalist Kapil Dev Kafle, Chief of education unit of Concern Universal Bangladesh Abdul Hamid and Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies Executive Director Dr Atik Rahman addressed the meeting. They stressed on bold initiatives and a strong network in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, China and Bhutan to combat the adverse climate change effects.
