CUTA election Dec 31
The election to Chittagong University Teachers' Association (Cuta) will be held on December 31.
Pro-Awami League and left teachers will contest the polls under “yellow panel” while pro-BNP-Jamaat teachers under “white panel”, the election commission sources said yesterday.
Prof Benu Kumar Dey will compete for the post of president from yellow panel while Prof Dr Md Mozaffor Ahmad Chowdhury will vie for the post from white panel, Election Commissioner Dr M Abdul Gafur, said.
He said Associate Professor Mohammad Ali Asgar Chowdhury (yellow panel) and Associate Professor Dr Sheikh Bakhtear Uddin (white panel) will run for the post of general secretary.
