Four JU students expelled

The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday expelled four students of Pharmacy department for three months for torturing some first year students of the same department. The expelled students are Md Ashikur Rahman, Mohidur Rahman, and Md Mudassir Hasan of 2009-2010 academic session and Md Rohul Mahbub of 2010-2011 academic session, said a press release from public relation office of the university. The decision was taken at an emergency syndicate meeting as the university authorities had found the proof of their involvement in torturing the students mentally and physically in preliminary investigation. A five-member committee headed by Maulana Bhasani Hall's Provost Prof Md Khabir Uddin has been formed for further investigation. The committee has been asked to submit its report within one month.
