Razzak's contribution recalled

Padokkhep '64, an organisation of the persons who completed their Masters course from the Dhaka University in 1964, has condoled the death of its distinguished member Abdur Razzak, a veteran leader of Awami League. Abdullah Haroon Pasha, president and Rezaur Rahman, general secretary of the organisation, expressed deep sorrow at the sad demise of their friend and classmate. They also expressed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family, said a press release yesterday. They recalled that Razzak, a close associate of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, took active part as an organiser and freedom fighter in the War of Liberation in 1971. A life-long political activist, he was considered a living history of the independence struggle of Bangladesh. Always amiable and polite, he was a thorough gentleman. His death is a great loss to the nation, they said. Razzak was suffering from kidney and liver ailments and died at a London hospital on Friday.
