Housewife takes her life in city
A housewife allegedly committed suicide in the city's Khilgaon area yesterday over family feud.
The deceased was identified as Rahima Begum, 35, second wife of Harun Biswas, an auto-rickshaw driver, of Sipahibagh in Khilgaon.
Quoting Rahima's neighbours, Khilgaon police said Rahima took poison around 3:30am following an altercation with her husband. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Alamgir Hossain, brother-in-law of Rahima, said the couple used to quarrel over family maintenance expenditure as Harun didn't give sufficient money for Rahima's living.
