“Girls, our school topped the list of successful schools in the Junior School Certificate Examination-2011 under Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chittagong this year,” said an ecstatic headmistress of Khastagir Government Girls' High School.
The deafening sound of students bursting into joyous cries and cheers drowned what the teacher was saying next.
Some embraced each other while another hid a tear as the exam result was made public in the school yesterday.
With her voice swelling with pride, Headmistress Hasmat Jahan said, “A total 193 students achieved GPA-5 from our school.”
Terming it a great success since last year it was only 75, she gave the credit to the teachers and guardians for providing proper guidance and to the students for working hard to achieve such a feat.
