Students protest delay

The master's (thesis) students under the 2004-05 session of applied mathematics department of Rajshahi University yesterday placed a memorandum to the vice chancellor, requesting his intervention in publishing their results immediately. At a press conference on the campus, they said their fellows, who did not have thesis, got results on June 6, 2011 and the delay is preventing them from applying for jobs. The students said they completed the master's final examination on February 9, 2011. Prof Hosen Ali, chairman of the department, said he is not concerned with the issue. Prof Zillur Rahman, chairman of examination committee, said they could not publish the results as two students out of eight, who took up thesis, are yet to complete their papers.
