CU BCL president has resigned, claim rivals
Few leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Chittagong University (CU) unit, claimed that Mamunul Hoque, president of the CU BCL resigned from his post on Thursday night showing personal reasons.
Abul Mansur Sikder, senior vice-president of the CU unit of BCL said Mamunul resigned in the face of various allegations brought against him by the BCL activists, including his involvement with Islami Chhatra Shibir.
However, he alleged that some masked miscreants kidnapped him on Thursday night at around 11:00pm from port city's Gool Pahar area on his way to his resident and took him away in a house by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw by wrapping his eyes and forced him to sign in a paper at arms point.
After beating with iron rods they left him in front of Chittagong Medical College Hospital yesterday at around 4:00am, said Mamunul.
CU BCL general secretary MA Khaled Chwodhury said he heard about the resignation but did not receive any papers in this regard.
