Two die in Rangpur road crashes
Two people were killed in separate road accidents at Mithapukur and Pirganj upazilas in the district yesterday afternoon.
In Mithapukur, a Dhaka-bound bus rammed a motorbike on Dhaka-Rangpur highway at Shathibari killing the bike rider Wahedul Haque Shahin, 50, on the spot, said police and eyewitnesses.
Angry people put up barricades on the highway in the area for an hour.
In Pirganj, Tobarak Ali, 75, died instantly when a brick-laden tractor ran over him on Darshana-Khalashpir road at Kutubpur at about 4:00pm.
The body was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
