Remembering late Faizullah
With much grief and pain, I would like to say a few words in memory of the ex-secretary Mohammad Faizullah, who died on Monday, the 20th February 2012.
As far as I know him, Late Mohammad Faizullah was a bona fide bureaucrat with versatile intellectual as well as human qualities. I closely worked with him as an executive member plus editor, ABCS Newsletter in the Association of British Council Scholars (ABCS) of which he was the president. We did so many meetings together with other ABCS EC members at Shishu Academy, Officers' Club, Planning & Development Academy, and at our university. He was blessed with strong leadership ability and would give us proper direction to resolving any problem. He was a very polite and friendly person.
Personally, I am indebted to him for the encouragement and nice words of appreciation he used to extend to me after going through my write-ups in the newspapers. Interestingly, he was a reader of my stories and poems in the Young Observer, the young people's page of the now defunct newspaper Bangladesh Observer and the forum to which I used to contribute articles since my school days.
With the sad demise of Mohammad Faizullah, I actually lost a preceptor and great well-wisher of mine. I pay my highest tribute to late Mohammad Faizullah. May Allah grant eternal peace to his departed soul.
