Abducted girl rescued
Police rescued a young girl from Jelepara area in Patenga of the port city two months after her alleged abduction and arrested two people in this connection yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, Patenga police conducted a drive at Muslimabad and rescued the 17 year-old girl, said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Amir Hossain of Patenga Police Station.
Police arrested Shilpi Akhter, 24, of Tulatali village in Langalkot upazila of Comilla, and Mohammed Dulal, 28, of Baufal upazila in Patuakhali district, on charge of keeping the girl captive.
A case was filed in this connection.
The abductors forced the girl to involve in anti-social activities, said police.
The girl was abducted two months ago from the port city, where she along with her sister came from Banskhali upazila in search of job.
After the abduction, the victim's father filed a general diary.
