Formulate master plan

Experts at a seminar stressed the need for taking immediate steps to bring the whole country under a master plan to save it from unplanned land development for housing projects. Rajuk Chairman Nurul Huda, however, at the seminar said the government is going to take an initiative to bring the whole country under a master plan to save its arable land. The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) yesterday organised the seminar on "Strengthening regional planning and governance to support the land development and real estate sector of Bangladesh" at DCCI auditorium. State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan warned the real estate companies of punishment for publishing advertisements on housing projects without purchasing land and without taking approval of Rajuk authorities. REHAB President Nasrul Hamid said rules of the Real Estate Development And Management Act, 2010 is being formulated to bring discipline in the sector.. DCCI President Asif Ibrahim said major cities of the country should be brought under a proper regional planning to stop unplanned development. DCCI Vice President Haider Ahmed Khan, Professor Emeritus Bran Roberts and DCCI Director Khairul Majid Mahmud also spoke at the seminar.
