Killing of Saudi official condemned
Former president Prof AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury in a statement yesterday condemned the killing of an official of Saudi Embassy.
Badruddoza termed the killing shameful for Bangladesh and urged the government to arrest the killers immediately and to ensure exemplary punishment to them, says a press release.
Jatiya Party (JP) Secretary General Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Global Economist Forum President Enayet Karim and Tahfij-e-Haramine Parisahd Bangladesh President Maulana Sadek Ahmed Siddique in separate statements demanded that the government tighten the security for officials of diplomatic missions in Bangladesh.
They also expressed sympathy with the Saudi Embassy, Saudi government and the family members of the deceased.
Khalaf Al Ali, a Saudi national who joined the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka about two years ago, was shot dead some 30 yards off his house in Gulshan area of the city early Tuesday.
