Changes in Water Act demanded
Social and cultural activists yesterday demanded changes in Bangladesh Water Act-2012 to ensure people's rights to the most basic utility.
They made the demand at a human chain programme organised by social and cultural organisations Shongshoptaque, Chattagram Nagarik Uddog, GROW and Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods in front of Chittagong Press Club.
They said although the proposed act acknowledges availability of water as basic right, its rules and regulations are not supportive to this right.
