Company official murdered
Unidentified criminals hacked to death a private company official at Pathotola village in sadar upazila on Thursday night.
The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained immediately.
Md Haniful Islam Prince, 30, the deceased, of village Atua of Pabna sadar upazila was the factory supervisor at Universal Food Ltd under Universal Group.
He was attacked in front of the factory at the village around 9:30pm while going to office, said Md Badruddoza, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sadar Police Station.
Prince died in Pabna Medical College Hospital. His body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy yesterday.
The victim's family said Prince had been worried over factory related matters for some days.
The OC said, “The victim might be murdered over company-related feud or previous enmity, but nothing is clear at all.”
This was not a company related matter, said Universal Group general manager Achinta Kumar Ghosh. "Prince was a gentle man. He had good relations with everybody".
Universal Group demands proper investigation into the killing, he said.
