Yaba tablets, cannabis, foreign liquors seized in Ctg
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested three persons and seized cannabis, 500 pieces of yaba tablet and 142 contraband foreign liquors in separate drives in Chittagong in the last two days.
The arrestees were identified as Md Atikur Rahman alias Raju, 19, and Md Jahid Alam alias Maimun, 21, both hailed from Double Mooring in the port city, and Nasima Khatun, 30, hailed from Teknaf.
A mobile court, with the assistance of Rab-7 personnel, conducted a drive at Chittagong Railway Station area in the city around 8:00am yesterday and arrested Nasima and seized 2 kgs of cannabis from her possession.
Chittagong District Executive Magistrate Jannatul Ferdous led the drive.
Meanwhile, a Rab-7 team conducted a drive on the road beside Honeymax Food Park at Chittagong City Corporation Super Market around 4:00pm on Monday and caught Raju and Maimun red handed with the yaba tablets worth Tk 2 lakh, said a press release.
The duo was handed over to Kotwali Police Station.
In another drive, Rab-7 men seized 130 bottles of foreign liquor and 12 cans of beer, totally worth Tk 70,000, at Dudkumra Village in Chittagong Monday night, said the release.
None was arrested in that drive.
