Three killed in road crashes

Three people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Narail, Chittagong and Jhenidah yesterday. Our Narail correspondent reports: A bus rammed a school van from behind on Narail-Gobra-Noapara road in Gobra Bazar area of the sadar upazila yesterday morning, leaving Athoi, 7, daughter of Badsha Mollah, dead on the spot and four others injured. Injured Emon, 5, Anisha, 7, Zihad, 6, and the van-puller Abdul Jalil were sent to Narail Sadar Hospital. Later, Zihad was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital. In Chittagong, bicyclist Shamsuzzaman Miah, 30, son of Abdul Momin, was injured as a covered van knocked his bicycle before Intraco CNG Refueling Station at Tiger Pass intersection yesterday. The injured was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. In Jhenidah, motorcyclist Sabu Hossain, 35, son of Montu Mia of Horinakundu upazila, was killed as a bus hit his bike on Horinakundu-Jhaudia road at Boythapara in the upazila yesterday.
