Build yourselves up as ideal people

PM urges children

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday urged children to build themselves up as 'ideal people’ and thus the real posterity of a heroic nation to lead Bangladesh in the world. “You will lead Bangladesh in future, so you have to acquire all qualities to be the golden sons of the soil so that you can lead the country to live with dignity in the world,” she said. The premier was addressing a rally of children and juveniles held under the auspices of Dhaka district administration at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on the occasion of the 41st Independence and National Day. She urged every child to acquire good moral character and be a person of strong mentality and said the present government had undertaken all measures to give standard education to children as well as create all facilities for their physical and mental growth. She called upon the children to nourish a progressive mentality and not to be involved in any anti-social activities or drugs and said, “You should be of strong character to lead the country in future.” She said her government had taken initiatives to construct at least a stadium and playground in every upazila to create facilities for the youths for sports and physical exercise. “Days are not so far when we will be able to win world cup in cricket and show our competence also in football and other sports events,” she said. State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Captain (Retd) ABM Tajul Islam and deputy commissioner of Dhaka M Muhibul Haque were present on the occasion. Hasina inspected the parade and took salute from the children came from different educational institutions and organizations. She also witnessed spectacular march past and colourful physical displays presented by the children. Patriotic song “Banglar hindu, Banglar muslim.....amra sobai bangali” sung by noted singer Sabina Yasmin enthralled the audience, as she went round the stadium singing the song.
