Cop killed in road crash
A police officer was killed and three persons were injured in two road accidents in Natore and Thakurgaon yesterday.
Our Natore Correspondent reports: A sub-inspector of industrial police of Gazipur industrial police camp died in a road crash in PTI More area of Natore town yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Salehin Joarder, 45, son of Zahir Uddin of Basuhram village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.
Salehin lost control over his motorbike as the bike hit a bicycle at around 7:00am, said police.
He was injured critically as he fell on the ground.
Locals rushed him to Natore Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at around 10:20am.
He was returning to Gazipur from Sarda Police Academy of Rajshahi.
Our Thakurgaon Correspondent adds: Three persons were injured in a head-on collision between two motorbikes coming from opposite direction on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway at Munshirhaat village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The injured are Amzad Hossain, 30, and Anisur Rahman, 40, of Jalashi village in Panchagarh Sadar upazila and Md Sumon, 35, of Rangpur municipality area. All of them were riding on the motorbikes, said locals.
They were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital.
