3 allegedly commit suicide
A housewife, a college girl and an HSC examinee have allegedly committed suicide in three districts.
A housewife allegedly committed suicide by taking pesticides at her house at Daher Singha village in Sadar upazila of Jessore on Sunday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Tahera Khatun, 25, wife of Liakat Ali of the village.
Neighbours said Tahera committed suicide following a family feud in the early morning.
In Satkhira, a college girl allegedly committed suicide by taking poison in Kalaroa upazila on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Tania Khatun, 19, daughter of Abu Bakkar of village Batra in the upazila, reports our correspondent.
Quoting local people police said Tania, a student of honours first year of political science department at Sheikh Amanullah College in the same upazila took poison in her bedroom at about 5pm following a family feud. She died on way to hospital.
In Jamalpur, an HSC examinee allegedly committed suicide by jumping under a running train near Piarpur rail station on Friday evening, reports UNB.
Police said Sumon, 19, son of Bondej Ali of Pathakata village in Nokla upazila of Sherpur and a student of Hossainpur College in Mymensingh, took his own life by jumping under a Dhaka-bound train.
Sumon's father said, Sumon had been suffering from severe depression.
