Firearms, ammo seized: 3 held
Police arrested three persons and seized firearms and ammunition from their possession from in front of Oli Khan mosque in Naya Hat area of the port city yesterday morning.
The arrestees were Mohammed Forkan, 28, Mohammed Mannan, 28 and Mohammed Jasim, 27. All are from Bayezid Bostami area in the city.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Bayezid police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them while they were going to Naya Hat area from Chalitatali by a CNG-run three-wheeler, said a press release of Bayezid police.
The police seized two locally made guns, three rounds of bullets, a knife and the three wheeler from their possession.
A case was lodged with Bayezid Police Station in this connection.
