4 killed in road accidents

Four people were killed and twelve others injured in separate road accidents in Dhaka, Magura, Manikganj and Jhenidah yesterday. UNB from Savar reports: A driver was killed instantly as the car he was driving crashed into a tree on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Phulbaria bus stand yesterday morning. The deceased was Abdur Rashid, 40, hailing from Rangpur and a resident of Savar municipality area. In Magura, Rashidul Hasan, 22, died and 10 others were injured when a human hauler skidded off the road as its driver lost control over the steering on Magura-Jessore road at Jagla in the sadar upazila yesterday morning. The injured were admitted to the sadar hospital. In Manikganj, Ruhul Amin, 35, was killed and two others were injured when a soil-laden truck hit a horse-drawn cart on Uthali-Jafarganj road at Baradia in Shibaloy upazila at about 12:30pm yesterday. Cart driver Akbar Ali and passenger Suruj Mia, who sustained injuries, were taken to the sadar hospital. Our Jhenidah correspondent says: Nurul Islam, 35, son of Abul Kashem of Dhopabila village in the sadar upazila, died on the spot when a truck rammed a human hauler carrying him at Bhatoi Bazar in Shailakupa upazila yesterday morning.
