Guard dies in ladder fall
A security guard at Chittagong Export Processing Zone in Chittagong city succumbed to his injuries after falling off a ladder yesterday.
The deceased Mozaffer Ali, 50, hailed from Jhalakathi.
Mozaffer was cleaning cobwebs on the ceiling of his employer's office, Maize Industries Private Ltd, at around 3:15pm when he slipped and fell from a height of around eight feet, said his colleague Salauddin.
He was rushed to the nearby BGMEA Hospital and shifted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead at around 5:00pm.
