Road crashes kill 3

Three people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Mymensingh and Chittagong yesterday. Our Mymensingh correspondent reports: Two people died instantly and five others, including a newly married couple, were injured when a truck hit an auto-rickshaw carrying a bridal party on Mymensingh-Nandail road at Harua in Iswarganj upazila yesterday. The deceased were Azizul Islam, 26, son of Hossain Ali and Tajul Islam, 35 son of Nazim Uddin of village Mollikpur in the upazila. Injured Enamul Haque and his wife Sharifa Begum, the auto-rickshaw driver Al-Amin, Abul Bashar and Helal Uddin were undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. In Chittagong, an army covered van rammed a CNG-run three-wheeler from the opposite direction on Chittagong-Rangamati highway at Charabattal in Raozan upazila yesterday morning, leaving one person dead on the spot and another injured. The deceased was Babu Palit, 32, of Pashchimpara in the upazila while the injured was Lalu Dutta, 50, of the same area. The injured was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
