BNP must not call hartal anymore

People are passing their days in great agony as they are unable to cope with so many problems. Acute shortage of electricity, gas, water; sky-rocketing prices of essentials; and crimes of all sorts including disappearances of people have made our lives miserable. It has been reported that in the last 27 months, 100 people have disappeared which is very alarming and unacceptable. On April 17, BNP leader Ilias Ali along with his driver disappeared and in protest BNP called hartal for three consecutive days. But people do not like hartal. BNP has been saying that when Awami League was in the opposition they called 173 days of hartal and BNP has called only 14 days of hartal. However, it can be no excuse for calling hartals; hartal cause a huge loss to the country's economy and people also suffer in many ways. We were glad noticing that BNP was holding rallies, road marches and human chains as part of their anti-government protest. So now this hartal l has disappointed us very much. They should refrain from calling hartals anymore. We have noticed that on hartal days, ruling party activists are in control of the streets, carrying anti-hartal banners and shouting slogans. It looks very funny because when Awami League was in the opposition, they called hartal from 12 hours to 72 hours and they destroyed public properties including the newly built railway station and the Biman office in Chittagong. The people of Bangladesh have suffered enough; they do not want to suffer any more at the whims of the politicians. They should now think about the people and the country instead of thinking about their own interest.
