TIN no., wealth statement for all
It is very unfortunate that from time to time we hear outcries that the country has been in grip of corruption for the last forty-one years of our independence. It would be wrong to blame a particular segment of our society for all wrongdoings. In my observation, it should be made mandatory for all the adult citizens to have their income tax identification numbers (TIN) and wealth statements besides the voter ID card, driving licence and passport.
The chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission said that ACC can interrogate any citizen of Bangladesh. Now in order to bring down the level of corruption in our country all the former and officiating presidents, prime ministers, speakers, ministers, secretaries and director generals and all of their personal assistants since independence should obtain their TIN number and wealth statement for scrutiny and necessary remedial measures.
