Time 4 days Khaleda tells govt; asks it to find Ilias by Saturday or face tougher programmes from Sunday; hails Sohel Taj (April 25, 2012) Bangladesh needs a change!
Habib Go on but no more hartal please.
Anonymous I wish our leaders had the same level of concern for common citizens just like they have for Ilias Ali.
Drishti My plea to both Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina, please spare the lives of poor and innocent Bangladeshi people. They are fed up with both of you, your parties and your dynastic politics. They are fed up with your lack of respect for the constitution and the laws of the land. People want to see true democracy in Bangladesh and peace and prosperity in their lives.
Truth Teller How do they know for sure that the government is behind his disappearance? Why should the poor people suffer because of some politically motivated issues? I would have a lot of respect for you if you had the same feelings for the two men who died during hartal.
Robin Tougher agitation is needed to force the government to change their behaviour.
Deimos Fabiano Stop calling hartal and help the government find Ilias Ali. It would be better for BNP.
Razib The lives of the drivers who died during hartal are not less precious than Ilias Ali. They were the breadwinner of their family. Khaleda should now look after these families.
Nasirullah Mridha, USA BNP and AL are the same. Neither party could make any qualitative change in the political environment. The sufferings of general people have gone beyond all proportions. Both the parties should understand that the political tool called hartal hurts everyone, especially the general people. But political leaders stay in safe places during hartals. This is very sad for the nation. So, hold programmes like agitation, human chain, procession, hunger strike etc. Please no hartal anymore.
Anonymous Hopefully, four days are enough for the peace-loving citizens to prepare themselves for the unknown destination, as a tougher programme is coming as told by the opposition leader. The condition for the recovery of Ilias Ali is a political wish which will never materialise.
Upfront Definitely the opposition does not have any alternative to press its demand. Disappearance, killing, kidnapping, ransom are regular happenings in the country where an eight-month-old child was not spared by the kidnappers. We are living in great fear.
