Death anniversary of Abdus Samad Azad today
Today is the seventh death anniversary of former foreign minister and Awami League presidium member Abdus Samad Azad. Different organisations, including ruling Awami League, will lay wreaths at the Banani graveyard in the capital to pay respect to the deceased veteran organiser of the country's liberation war and a close associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. To mark the day, a Qurankhwani will be held at his Kalabagan residence in the capital in the morning while a doa mahfil will be held at Kalabagan Lake Circus Mosque after Maghrib prayers. On behalf of Abdus Samad Azad Foundation, a special prayer will be held at his grave at 10:00am. Besides, Sunamganj district AL units will also hold discussions and doa mahfil. A meeting will also be held at the Impression Hall in east London, UK on April 30 on the life of the former minister.
