DU teacher slaps employee
Over 150 fourth class employees of Dhaka University blocked the road before the vice chancellor's residence yesterday evening demanding punishment to a teacher who slapped their colleague for negligence in duty.
Prof Muhammad Mohiuddin of management studies department said several robberies occurred at Giasuddin residential area on Fuller Road last year.
Mahbub, the security guard of the area, failed to keep outsiders from entering the area, even last evening, despite repeated warnings. “So I slapped him,” he said.
Proctor Prof MA Ali said a teacher should not hurt employees. “The vice chancellor will look into the matter,” he added.
