PM's utterances
Very often the PM is found to accuse BNP or its leader Khaleda Zia that 'when the BNP was in power, they did not think of doing good for the country or its people; they only indulge in looting and making fortunes for themselves.' Her utterances only demonstrate her political immaturity, for people know that whoever is at the helm would blow her own trumpet. There are allegations against the BNP that they committed many misdeeds, but the assertion that it did not work for the people is ridiculous.
The uncontrolled price spiral of daily essentials, the deteriorating law and order situation, the share market debacle, the rots of unbridled corruption (it has gone all time high), failure to management of traffic jams, the impunity given to the unruly AL cadres belonging to its various groups and many, many other instances of blatant failures have had the people's back to the wall.
How could the PM claim that she works for the people when she do not take steps to stabilise the prices of edible oil, flour, eggs, etc? Why an LP gas cylinder that could be bought at Tk. 1200/- three years back now sells at Tk. 1800/-? Where did your much hyped commitment of power supply go? With increased load-shedding came the increased tariff. The whole nation watched your government's failure to nab the culprits who killed the journalist couple Sagar-Runi. The other day in broad daylight Tk. 25 lakhs were robbed from Dhanmondi. The World Bank stalled disbursement of funds for the Padma Bridge as it smelt a rat. Before picking holes in BNP's activities, please mend your own.
